PERMIT STATUS

7/5/2017 – Review complete. Comments issued.

Advisory Comment (no response required):  This review is based on the requirements of the Anchorage Administrative Code (AAC), 2009 International Building Code (IBC), 2009 International Residential Code (IRC) and all adopted references thereto as amended by MOA. The following comments must be addressed before a permit can be issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of the codes, or any federal, state or local regulations.

1.     F&F COMMENTS

Reference the drawings and calculations. Please provide the following:

A.    Reference sheet S240 of the drawings. The top of footing elevations for two of the footings on this sheet indicate 0’-0”. Is this the intent? Please verify.

2.     BUILDING COMMENTS

Reference the drawings and calculations. Please provide the following:

A.    Reference detail 222 on sheet S601 of the drawings. Please provide calculations showing the weld of the plate to the perpendicular WT has sufficient capacity to transfer the required loads.

B.    Reference detail 219 on sheet S601 of the drawings. Please provide calculations showing the connection of the collector plate in this detail has sufficient capacity to transfer the required loads.

C.    Reference pages 324 through 331 of the calculations. Please correct the following: For block shear rupture, Ag has been taken as the gross cross sectional area of the entire WT. This is not correct. Ag is the gross area in tension which is just the distance between rows of bolts. It also appears that the end distance has been assumed to be 1.5 inches when the detail shows 1.25 inches.

3.     SPECIAL INSPECTORS

Please provide a letter from the Owner indicating who they will be hiring to provide special inspections for this permit. The special inspectors must be licensed by MOA in the types of inspections to be performed. Reference IBC section 1703.1.

Please provide a written response to the comments and include one copy of additional or revise calculations, and two copies of additional or revise drawings. While not required it is extremely helpful to the reviewer if the response indicates where in the submittal each comments has been addressed.

All submittals should be sent to the permit manager.
