1.  The following comments based on the 2011 National Electrical Code (NEC) must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the NEC or any federal, state or local regulations.

 

2.  LOCAL AND STATE BUILDING CODES::

Sheet E0.1 The building code editions are inaccurate. Please note the current adopted I-codes are 2009 edition except the energy code is 2006. Please address.

 

3.  GENERATOR MOUNTING (STRUCTURAL REVIEW)

Sheet E6.12 (One Line Diagram – Generator). Provide structural, seismic and wind load calculations as applicable, plus fastening details for the generator. Include engineers stamp and signature, for structural review on a deferred submittal basis. Refer to the Code AAC 23.10.104.8.1. .

 

4.  AVAILABLE FAULT CURRENT:

Sheet E6.12 (Available Fault Current – Line Diagram and Panel Schedules). Provide calculation for the available fault current at the main service equipment and at any panel has AIC larger than 10 AIC. NEC Section 110.24 requires that service equipment be legibly marked in the field with maximum available fault current. Please address.

 

5.  SAFEY BRANCH CIRCUITS:

Sheet E6.12 (One Line Diagram – Safety Branch Circuit). The marking of safety branch panel and transfer switch applies to health care facilities. Please state your reason for naming the life safety main and panel. Refer to the Code AAC 23.10.104.8.1. .

 

6.  When the above comments have been addressed, please update the electrical plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three (3) sets of revised electrical pages to include clouded changes, electrical engineers stamp and signature.
