1. The following comments based on the 20011National Electrical Code (NEC) must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the NEC or any federal, state or local regulations.
2. AVAILABLE FAULT CURRENT CALCULATION AND MARKING:
Sheet SJE-1.2. Please provide the available fault current calculation and field marking.
Field Marking. NEC Section 110.24 requires that service equipment shall be legibly marked in the field with maximum available fault current. The field markings shall include the date the fault current calculation was performed and be of sufficient durability to withstand the environment involved.
3. CIRCUIT DIRECTORY OR CIRCUIT INDENTIFICATION ON PANEL SCHEDULES:
Sheets SKE-1.2 (Floor Plan and Panel Schedules Circuit Identifications). Panel schedules have generic names and location such as the three circuits named tire sales lighting, and three circuits named battery chargers. These circuits should be identified with locations in the panel schedules. Refer to NEC 408.4 for circuit identifications.
4. TRANSFORMER DISCONNECTING MEANS:
Sheet SKE-1.1. NEC Section 450.14 requires that transformers have a disconnecting means located either in sight of the transformer or in a remote location. When located in the remote location, the disconnecting means shall be lockable and shall be field marked to reference the transformer location.
5. SERVICE LOAD CALCULATION:
Sheet SKE-1.2 (Service Load Calculation). The plans have no calculations for feeder loads for the existing building as required by NEC Section 220.87. Please address.
6. ONE-LINE DIAGRAM AND PANELS OVERCURRENT PROTECION:
Sheet SKE-1.1. Please provide the following:
a) Clarify the overcurrent protection for panel P!3.
b) Clarify the secondary overcurrent protection for the 30KVA transformer.
c) Clarify the distance of the wiring for the transformer primary and secondary for voltage drop.
d) Panels H10, H11, and P13 have connected loads. Provide NEC demand loads.
7. When the above comments have been addressed, please update the electrical plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three (3) sets of revised electrical pages to include clouded changes, electrical engineers stamp and signature.
