1. The following comments based on the 2011 National Electrical Code (NEC) must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the NEC or any federal, state or local regulations.
2. TRANSFORMER DISCONNECTING MEANS:
Sheet E-1 (Line Diagram – Transformer Disconnect). The transformer does not have disconnecting means. NEC Section 450.14 requires that transformers shall have a disconnecting means located either in sight of the transformer or in remote locations. Where located in the remote location, the disconnecting means shall be lockable and the locations shall be field marked on the transformer. Please address.
3. TRANSFORMERS MOUNTING (STRUCTURAL REVIEW)
Sheet E-1 (Power Line Diagram – New Transformers). Provide structural, seismic and wind load calculations as applicable, plus fastening details for the transformer include engineers stamp and signature, for structural review on a deferred submittal basis. Refer to Anchorage Administrative Code AAC 23.10.104.8.1. Please address.
4. EXISTING SERVICE LOAD CALCULATIONS:Sheet E1 (New Panel Schedules – Existing Feeder Load Calculations). The plans have no calculations for feeder loads for the existing building as required by NEC Section 220.87. Please address.
5. NEC DEMAND LOAD ON PANEL SCHEDULE:
Sheet E-1 (All Panel Schedules - NEC Calculated Demand Load). There is no NEC demand load on any of the panel schedules. Provide on the plans the NEC demand load on every panel schedule. For example the connected load on panel DP2 is 779 amps that feeds from the 400 amp breaker. Refer to Anchorage Administrative Code AAC 23.10.104.8
6. PANEL AND TRASFORMER OVERCURRENT PROTECTION:
Sheet E-1 (Partial Line Diagram - Overcurrent Protection). Provide the over current protection for panels H13 and H14 and for the new transformer overcurrent protection on the secondary side..
7. When the above comments have been addressed, please update the electrical plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three (3) sets of revised electrical pages to include clouded changes, electrical engineers stamp and signature.
