. C(1): ELECTRICAL STATUS: Please address the comments below for full approval. 5-29-2008 6-4-2008 PLANS HAVE BEEN REVISED TO REFLECT THE CORRECTION REQUIERD. APPROVED C(2): The following comments are based on the 2005 National Electrical Code (NEC), and should be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the NEC, or any federal, state or local amendments to these codes. 6-4-2008 No response required to this comment C(3): EQUIPMENT REQUIRES THIRD PARTY LISTING: Please be aware that all equipment will require and be checked for third party listing per NEC 110-3. Any new or existing equipment to be reused or relocated will be checked for listing by the electrical inspector. Any equipment found without a listing will be required to go through testing to gain approval 6-4-2008 Insepector to verify in the field C(4): THE GENERATOR SET: THE 60 AMPS CIRCUIT BREAKER: Sheet E5.0. There is a 60 amp circuit breaker that is ahead of the standby transfer switch. Is the 60 amps breaker inside the generator or outside?. There is no circuit breaker ahead of the emergency transfer switch. Please address. -4-2008 The engineer has indicated that the owner has decided to remove all non-emergency loads from the generator. T1 and T3 are not fed from a new standyby transfer switch. They will fe fed from the existing panel HC. Two door heater has have been removed to make space for the existing tranformers and 240 volts panels. The generator and emergency system are existing and no changes to this system are planned under this project other than removing the two transformers and panels. APPROVED ISOLATED GROUND AT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCHES: Sheet E5.0. Please explain the isolated ground at the transfer switches. 6-4-2008 The new standby transfeer switch has been deleted. APPROVED D GENERATOR LOAD SHEDDIN C(5): TRANSFORMER T-1 AND T-3 OVERCURRENT PROTECTION: Sheet E5.0. The new standby transfer switch is feeding the two existing transformers T-1 and T-3. Please provide the secondary overcurrent protection for the transformers. Refer to NEC 450-3(B). 6-8-2008 The engineer has revised the riser diagram on sheet E5.0 to show the overcurrent protection on the secondary side for transformer T-1 and T-3. The overcurrent protection is provided through existing main breakers in the existing panels LB and LC. APPROVED. C(6): BALANCE LOAD IN PANEL LB, LC AND HC: Sheet E6.0. The generator transfer switches are feeding panel LB single phase, LC single phase and panel HC three phase (phase C has no load). Please explain the load balance. 6-4-2008 The engineer has indicated that the circuiting in existing panel HC has been revised to balance the loads among all three phases. Panels LB and LC have beeen re-fed from a 480 volts panel, loads are balanced. APPROVED C(7): When the above comments have been addressed, please update the electrical plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three (3) sets of revised electrical pages to include clouded changes, electrical engineers stamp and signature. Refer to the MOA Amendment 23.230.70(A)(1). 6-4-2008 COMMENT HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED AND CORRECTED. APPROVED.
