The chase wall studs appear to have spans in excess of 14 ft. The studs appear to be overstressed in bending. Please provide design verifying the capacity of the studs, or provide revised design and details as necessary. Reference: IBC Section 1604.4; AISI NASPEC Section C3 SPECIAL INSPECTION Special inspection is required for welding and post-installed anchors per IBC Chapter 17 and manufacturer's 3rd-party approval listing, respectively. Please clarify the special inspection requirements. Reference: IBC Section 1704.3; ICC-ES ESR-1917 Section 4.4 STRUCTURAL STABILITY Refer to Sheet SK1. Please clarify the structural stability of the shaft construction. The chase wall studs appear to span from the base frame to a midpoint support, and then to the top of the chase. The top of the chase provides no out-of-plane support for the studs; the overframe will act as a series of pins and deflect inwards with increased load at the top. Reference: IBC Section 1604.4
