C(1): Reference Structural Calculations: Please consider that as of February of 2003, the Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska, Building Safety, adopted the 2000 International Building Code as the Modal Code, and since then, it has been mandatory that all designs under review comply with the adopted code. The adopted code addresses the design of steel storage racks in section 1622.3.4, and as an alternative, the code also allows the design under section 2.7 of the RMI Standard Specifications for the design and utilization of industrial steel storage racks given a number of conditions that must be met. If you decide to update your design per the alternate method of section 2.7 of RMI Standards the following conditions must be considered: 1. "Ca" = Sds / 2.5, where Sds is the design spectral response acceleration under the 2000 IBC. 1615.1.3 2.
