1. It is not clear what the structural scope is. The structural drawings are of roof framing plans and details and appears to have something to do with overhangs; however, no calculations or narrative has been provided about the changes. This project is ten years old. There should be something explaining the changes: what they are, why they are being made, and there should be calculations associated with the changes provided. It seems like the original intent was to allow this structure to be built back per the original approved drawings, but now there are changes to the structure. The change order doesn't even describe these changes. Please clarify.

If these overhangs were not part of the original package, they add seismic mass to the structure that may affect lateral design. This could also affect lateral load paths as well as tie downs for the trusses (which are the engineer of record's responsibility.

2. In the new detail 6 on sheet S524, please indicate diaphragm boundary nailing over the shear wall. Please provide calculations showing the soffit framing has sufficient capacity to transfer the required wind uplift loads. Please provide calculations for the connections shown in this detail including soffit framing connections and truss uplift connection.
