1. The following comments based on the 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the NEC or any federal, state or local regulations.
2. PATIENT CARE AREA
Sheet E2.0. We could not verify that the cath lab room is wired per NEC 517. NEC section 517.13 requires grounding terminal of all receptacles and all non-current-carrying conductive surfaces of fixed electric equipment likely to become energized that are subject to personal contact, operating at over 100 volts, shall be grounded by an insulated copper conductor. The equipment grounding conductor shall be sized in accordance with table 250.122 and installed in a metal raceway or as a part of listed cables having a metallic armor or sheath assembly with the branch circuit conductors supplying these receptacles or fixed equipment. Please address.
3. SERVICE LOAD CALCULATION:
Sheet E4.0 (Service Load Calculations). The plans have no calculations for feeder loads for the existing building as required by NEC Section 220.87. Please address.
4. CIRCUIT DIRECTORY OR CIRCUIT INDENTIFICATION ON FLOOR PLAN & PANEL SCHEDULES:
Sheet E5.0 (Panel Schedules and Floor Plans Circuit Identifications). Panel CL1schedule has many circuits named PNL-CATH-LAB-1(VIA TR-CATH-LABE-1. Please note that these circuits should be individually identified with their locations on floor plans and on the panel schedules according to NEC 408.4 for circuit identification.
5. AMPERAGE INTERRUPTING AMPACITY:
Sheet E5.0 (Panel Schedule - AIC). Panel schedules CLI and CATH-LAB-1are not provided with their calculated AIC rating. Please address.
6. PANEL SCHEDULES CONNECTED LOADS AND NEC DEMAND LOADS: Sheet E5.0. Panel schedules are provided with calculateds load in VA. Please provide the panel schedules with their calculated loads and NEC demand loads in amps.
7. When the above comments have been addressed, please update the electrical plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three (3) sets of revised electrical pages to include clouded changes, electrical engineers stamp and signature.
