Plan review
comments:

1.  This review is a
code compliance review based on the requirements of the 2012 International
Building Code (IBC) and all adopted references thereto as amended by the
Municipality of Anchorage in the Anchorage Municipal Code (AMC) Title 23.  This review does not permit the violation of
the building codes, nor any federal, state, or municipal regulation.

2.  There is no information on the existing unit
provided.  The original curb attachment
to the building, that the new mechanical unit is attaching too, and the structural
support elements would be in question if the original unit is more than 10% of
the weight or the height.  Please provide
the weight and height of the original unit to show that the new unit is less of
not more than 10% increase in both cases. IEBC 40402.3, 402.4

3.  The engineering letter indicated that the new
unit will be fastened to the original curb, but the plan set states that the
new unit will be fastened to a new adapter curb.

What is the height
of the adapter curb?  An increased height
will increase the wind load, which may decrease the fastening spacing due to
increased load.  Please confirm the
adapter curb height will not change the attachment of the unit as specified; and
confirm that the unit attachment specified is the same for both the unit to the
adapter curb and the adaptor curb to the existing curb.

Address all comments above to complete the permit process.  Please provide corresponding letter that
describes how comments have been addressed and where on the plans the changes
have occurred.  Any additional
information that is provided to address the above comments could result in
additional comments based on the new information provided for review.   All
submittals should be sent or given to the permit manager of this project.
