Plan reviewcomments:
1. This review is acode compliance review based on the requirements of the 2012 InternationalBuilding Code (IBC) and all adopted references thereto as amended by theMunicipality of Anchorage in the Anchorage Municipal Code (AMC) Title 23. This review does not permit the violation ofthe building codes, nor any federal, state, or municipal regulation.
2. There is no information on the existing unitprovided. The original curb attachmentto the building, that the new mechanical unit is attaching too, and the structuralsupport elements would be in question if the original unit is more than 10% ofthe weight or the height. Please providethe weight and height of the original unit to show that the new unit is less ofnot more than 10% increase in both cases. IEBC 40402.3, 402.4
3. The engineering letter indicated that the newunit will be fastened to the original curb, but the plan set states that thenew unit will be fastened to a new adapter curb.
What is the heightof the adapter curb? An increased heightwill increase the wind load, which may decrease the fastening spacing due toincreased load. Please confirm theadapter curb height will not change the attachment of the unit as specified; andconfirm that the unit attachment specified is the same for both the unit to theadapter curb and the adaptor curb to the existing curb.
