1. Reference page 61 of the calculations. Please justify the used of R=4 for the concrete shear walls. IEBC section 301.1.4.1(1) requires structural systems to be classified as Ordinary unless it can be shown that the system meets the requirements of "Intermediate" or "Special."

Comment resolved. This was an error by the reviewer as Ordinary Plain Concrete Walls has a lower R value. WAB - 1/17/2018

2. Reference the calculations. The design of the floor and wall infills could not be located. Please provide. Please note that this may include checks of the jams and headers in the existing opening. Reference the Anchorage Administrative Code (AAC) section 23.10.104.8.

Comment remains. It appears that it has been assumed that the infills are simply supported. This means the edges of the openings need to be checked for the additional loading they now supporting tributary weight or lateral loads from the infill. The anchorage of the infill to the existing needs to be verified as well as the capacity of post installed rebar in the direction fo the thickness of the wall could be extremely limited.
