The proposed helistop location is not in conformance with the location identified in the FAA permit. Please provide confirmation from FAA with no objection to the new location.

The FAA permit notes the design aircraft as a Bell 206B-3 helicopter. Available specifications for this aircraft note the maximum take-off weight as 3,200-3,350 lbs. As this exceeds the 3,000 lbs design limit per IBC for 40 psf, the design load of the helipad and supporting structure is 60 psf. Please provide revised design accordingly.

The proposed design does not address localized lateral stability of the helipad framing. Please provide for review.


4-24-17  There has been no design for this new framing.  Now that the scope of what this will be used for, please confirm that the framing is adequate to support equipment.  Nothing was provided to clarify the equipment placement and loads. 

The lateral stability of the framing has also not been designed.

The provided design does not include any connections for the helipad, nor any design for those connections, including the bracket detail 1/S1.0. Please provide for review.


4-24-17  The detail, 1/S1.0, is no longer applicable as it appears the size of the equipment platform has decreased.  The comment is still not resolved as there are no connections of materials at all.  Please provide all connections of materials.

Please provide design and construction details for the stairs and walkway shown on Sheet A2.1.


4-24-17  Nothing was provided for this to review.  Please design of landings and stairs.  Please include design and details of construction, lateral resistance, materials and connections for all aspects of the stairs and landings sown on the architectural drawings.  IBC 1604.1
