1.  The following comments based on the 2014
National Electrical Code (NEC) must be resolved before a permit is issued. The
approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any
section of the NEC or any federal, state or local regulations.

2. AVAILABLE FAULT CURRENT:

Sheet E4.0 (Available Fault
Current – Line Diagram). Provide calculation for the available fault current at
the main service equipment. NEC Section 110.24 requires that service equipment
be legibly marked in the field with maximum available fault current. Please
address.

3. TRANSOFRMER GROUNDING:

Sheet 4.0. The transformer
grounding shows “grounding transformer secondary in accordance with NEC article
250.30”. Provide details of the grounding per NEC article 250.30 and 250.102.  

4.
TRANSFORMERS MOUNTING (STRUCTURAL REVIEW):  

Sheet E4.0 (One Line Diagram – Transformers). Provide
structural, seismic and wind load calculations as applicable, plus fastening
details for the transformers. Include engineers stamp and signature, for
structural review on a deferred submittal basis. Refer
to Anchorage
Administrative Code AAC 23.10.104.8.1. Please address.

5. TRANSFORMER
DISCONNECTING MEANS:  

Sheet E4.0. Please
verify that the transformers disconnecting means comply with NEC Section
450.14. NEC Section 450.14 requires that transformers have a disconnecting
means located either in sight of the transformer or in a remote location. When
located in the remote location, the disconnecting means shall be lockable and
shall be field marked to reference the transformer location.

6.  TRANSFORMER (OVER 112.5KVA) FIRE RATED
HOUSING:

Sheet E4.0 (Line Diagram - 300
KVA Transformer Fire Rating Enclosure). NEC Section 450.21(B) requires
transformer larger than 112.5KVA to be installed in a fire resistant room of
minimum 1-hr fire rating. Please address.

7.  AIC RATING:  

Sheet E4.0. The plans have
a table that has calculation results of the AIC and panel schedules show  FCA + 10% min fully rated. Please provide
sample of detail calculations for panels LP1 and LBD.

8.  ISOLATED GROUNDING SYSTEM:

Sheet AV101. Provide details
for the isolated system. Is the isolation at the panel or transformer?

9.  When the above comments have been addressed,
please update the electrical plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three
(3) sets of revised electrical pages to include clouded changes, electrical engineers
stamp and signature.
