1) STATUS: 2-24-2017 Comments to be addressed.
2) The following comments based upon the 2012 International Building Code (IBC) must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the IBC or any federal, state or local regulations.
3) A.0.001 Project Information The Dimond Center Mall Tower construction type "I-A" is to be included within the code study.
4) A.0.001 Project Information Provide the "Fire-Resistance Rating Requirements For Building Elements" from IBC Table 601 for this "I-A" construction type.
5) A.0.010 General Notes Penetrations of the 2-hour floor/ceiling assemblies are to be protected using listed penetration fire protection details.
6) A.0.100 Structural Column Index Note "Be" to indicate that structural columns for this project require 3-hour protection and any protection assemblies need to be listed.
7) A.0.100 Doors With Exit Signs Door numbers 2a and 4e are provided with exit signs as one leaves the sales area. Exiting from areas containing over 50 people require the exit signs and the doors must swing outward in the direction of travel. (IBC 1008.1.2)
8) A.0.106 Fitting Room Access ADA fitting room #100 door requires 18" clear on the latch side pull side of the door per ICC/ANSI A117.1-404.2.3. Provide clarification.
9) A.0.200 Ceiling Return Air Plenum Since the mechanical system uses the above ceiling space as a return air plenum, all above ceiling items (wire, conduit, controls, etc.) will be required to be plenum rated per IMC 602.2.1. Please clarify on the plans.
11) A.1.500 Ceiling Soffits Provide structural and seismic calculations plus fastening details to include engineers stamp and signature, for structural review on a deferred submittal basis.
12) A.2.500 Concealed Spaces The soffit and display cases require sprinkler protection per 2010 NFPA 13.8.5. Please clarify on the plans.
13) When the above comments have been addressed, please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised architectural pages to include clouded changes, architects stamp and signature. RE-SUBMITTALS ARE TO BE DIRECTED TO THE ATTENTION OF THE PERMIT MANAGER WITH A LETTER OF RESPONSE ADDRESSING EACH COMMENT. (23.10.104.8.1)
