1) STATUS: 3-30-2016 Comments to be addressed.

2) The following comments based upon the 2009 International Building, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Codes must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the IBC, IMC, IFGC or any federal, state or local regulations.

3) Provide structural and seismic calculations plus fastening details for EWH-1 to include the engineers stamp and signature, on a deferred submittal basis.

4) M4.0            "Where containers of medical gases in quantities greater than the permit amount are located inside buildings, they shall be in a....1-hour interior room.... in accordance with IFC Section....3006.2.2...." (IFC3006.2). The permit amount for oxidizing gases per IFC Table 105.6.8 is 504 cubic feet at normal temperature and pressure. "The room shall be exhausted through a duct to the exterior. Supply and exhaust ducts shall be enclosed in a 1-hour rated shaft enclosure from the room to the exterior." (IFC 3006.2.2) Please address and coordinate with architectural.

For Clarification, medical gas quantities less than the permit amount have no special requirements. Quantities above those listed in IBC Table 307.1(1) are required to be separated from the rest of the building by construction for the appropriate hazard class for an "H" occupancy. Quantities in between are treated per the requirements of IFC 3006.2.

5) When the above comments have been addressed, please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised mechanical pages to include clouded changes, engineers stamp and signature. RE-SUBMITTALS ARE TO BE DIRECTED TO THE ATTENTION OF THE PERMIT MANAGER WITH A LETTER OF RESPONSE ADDRESSING EACH COMMENT.   (23.10.104.8.1)
