"5. 1.02EN-explain the "lock down and release" function of doors 2E109A, 2E108, 2E109B. Are these doors able to open in the direction egress under lockdown mode?
The questions remains. Are these doors able to open in the direction of egress under lockdown mode? If not, then additional exiting will be required that cannot be locked down. Or lockdown mode will have to be removed from required exits. "
Please provide the release function of doors 2E109A, 2E108, 2E109B that meets the requirements of IBC Section 1008.1.9.6, 1008.1.9.7, or 1008.1.9.8. Note that IBC Section 1008.1.9.9 only applies to correctional facilities and can not be used with out an approved "Request for Alternate Design, Materials, and Methods of Construction" by both the Building Official and the Fire Marshall. 11/20/14
