Comment remains. The response indicates that the footing is existing. If this is the case please verify the area of the new sign is not more than 10% larger than the existing sign on this footing. If it is greater than 10% larger than the footing will need to be checked for current load requirements. Please also clarify how the new sign is attached to the existing footing. If attached with post installed anchors design of these anchors will need to be provided. WAB - 6/9/2015
For the new menu sign, please provide the before and after dimensions. Where the area of the new signs is more than 10% larger than the existing, the existing foundation must be checked to the current code requirements. Reference IEBC section 303.4.

Comment remains. It does not appear as if the newest submittal addresses the comment. The dimensions of the new sign appear to be shown, but not of the existing. Please verify that the area of the new sign is not more than 10% greater than the existing sign. It is also not clear if the new sign bolts to the foundation using the same anchors as the existing. Please clarify. If post installed anchors are required, design of those anchors would need to be provided. WAB - 6/9/2015
Plese clarify what the foundation is for the new ditigal order screen sign is and provide design for it. Reference AAC section 23.10.104.8.1.
Comment remains. Please provide design to ASCE 7-05. Currently the design appears to be to the 2010 ASCE 7 which is not yet adopted by MOA, and the wind map for ASCE 7-10 have not been released. It also appears that Risk Category I has been used when the signs should be designed for the sign category as the building which is II in this case. This foundation must also be stamped by an engineer licensed in Alaska and must also include wind and snow loads on the canopy. WAB - 12/9/2014
Comment remains. Has this sign been removed from the scope. It does not appear to be in the most current submittal. Please clarify. WAB - 6/9/2015
For the attachment of the drive thru building sign, please provide neoprene gommets at the screws or provide a similar separation element or provide austenitic stainless steel or aluminum screws as required by the Aluminum Design Manual section 5.4.1. This applies to both drive thru building signs. For brick wall installation the HLC-HX anchors do not have a current approved report. Please revise to a different anchor.
Comment no longer applicable. Per memo from Ross, the fastener requirements of ADM are no applicable to signs. WAB - 12/9/2014

There is a foundation shown on drawing number 16738-3P-105 that shows a foundation for a drive thru three panel. Is this for the drive thru five panel sign? Please clarify. Reference AAC section 23.10.104.8.1.
Comment remains. It does not appear as if this drawing applies as the menu is going on an existing foundation; however this is not completely clear. If the new menu sign is being attached with post installed anchors, this attachment must be provided and designed. WAB - 12/9/2014
Comment remains. The most current submittal indicates the foundation for this sign as existing. Please verify that the area increase is less than 10% or show that the existing foundation can support the loads generated by the new sign. Please clarify the anchorage of this sign to the foundation. If post installed anchors are used they must be designed and a detail provided. WAB - 6/9/2015
Near the end of the submittal there is a canopy foundation. Please clarify what this is for. Canopy work can not be done under a sign permit. This would need to be designed and stamped by an engineer licensed in Alaska.
Comment remains. See comment 4. WAB - 12/9/2014
Comment remains. It appears that this comment is no longer applicable. Please verify that there is no sign/canopy anymore as it does not appear as if one is shown in the newest submittal. WAB - 6/9/2015
It appears there is welding on this project. Welding requires special inspection. Please provide a letter from the Owner indicating who they will be hiring to provide the special inspections for this project. The special inspectors must be licensed by MOA in the types of inspections to be performed. Reference IBC section 1703.1
Comment not applicable. Ross Noffsinger has set precedence on this on a previous project. Since these are non structural components that are not listed as requiring special inspections in Chapter 17 of IBC, they do not require special inspections. WAB - 12/9/2014
