1.  The following comments based on the 2009 International Building Code (IBC) and 2009 International Existing Building Code (IEBC) must be resolved before a permit is issued.  The plans and specifications do not permit the violation of any section of the IBC or any federal, state, or local regulations.

 

2.  SAFETY CLASS HAZARDOUS LOCATION:

Sheet A2.01 (Mall Concourse - Safety Glazing). Please verify that the glass windows adjacent to front door and within 24 inches have safety glazing per IBC Section 246.4.6. Please address.

 

3.  BEAMS AND COLUMNS FIRE PROTECTION:

Sheet A5.01 (Fire Rated Protection of Beams and Columns). The building construction is rated type 1A construction. There are no fire protection details provided for the beams and columns with the new tenant improvement. Provide fire protection details for the construction element and provide their code references. Refer to IBC Table 601.          

 

4:  COMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL IN TYPE I ABD II CONSTRUCTION:

Sheet A3.01. Combustible material (plywood). Combustible material needs to comply with IBC sections 603 and 805 where fire resistive material is allowed. Please address.

 

5. When the above comments have been addressed please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised architectural pages to include clouded changes, engineers stamp and signature.
