1. The following comments based on the 2011 National Electrical Code (NEC) must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the NEC or any federal, state or local regulations.
2. EXISTING SERVICE LOAD CALCULATIONS:Sheets E1.2 (Electrical Riser Diagram - Existing Service Load Calculation) The plans have no calculations of feeder loads for the existing building as required by NEC Section 220.87. Please address.
3. AVAILABLE FAULT CURRENT:
Sheet E1.2 (Field Marking - Available Fault Current). We could not verify that the available fault current is calculated and a note to mark it on the service equipment. NEC Section 110.24 requires that service equipment be legibly marked in the field with maximum available fault current. The field markings shall include the date the fault current calculation was performed and be of sufficient durability to withstand the environment involved.
4. TRANSFORMERS MOUNTING (STRUCTURAL REVIEW):
Sheet E1.2 (Transformers Structural Seismic Calculations). Provide structural, seismic and wind load calculations as applicable, plus fastening details for the transformer including engineers stamp and signature, for structural review on a deferred submittal basis. Refer to Anchorage Administrative Code AAC 23.10.104.8.1. Please address.
5. CIRCUIT DIRECTORY OR CIRCUIT INDENTIFICATION ON FLOOR PLAN & PANEL SCHEDULS:
Sheets E1 and E1.2 (Floor Plans and Panel Schedules Circuit Identifications). Panel schedules and floor plans do not have same circuit identifications. For example: the new panel board has many circuits named track lighting. These circuits should be clearly indentified. No two circuits should have the same name / identification. Refer to NEC 408.4 for circuit identifications.
6. When the above comments have been addressed, please update the electrical plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three (3) sets of revised electrical pages to include clouded changes, electrical engineers stamp and signature.
