PERMIT STATUS

9/17/2014 – Review complete. Comments issued.

Advisory Comment (no response required):  This review is based on the requirements of the Anchorage Administrative Code (AAC), 2009 International Building Code (IBC), 2009 International Residential Code (IRC) and all adopted references thereto as amended by MOA. The following comments must be addressed before a permit can be issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of the codes, or any federal, state or local regulations.

1. Screws into aluminum must be austenitic stainless steel or aluminum per the Aluminum Design Manual section 5.4.1. Please clarify the fastening. It may be difficult to find a concrete screw of austenitic stainless steel so it may be better it indicate a different fastener type. It is also acceptable to use galvanize screws with a neoprene grommet or similar separation element.

2. Unless the concrete remains dry and no corrosive additives such as chloride was added to the concrete aluminum connected to the concrete must be protected per the Aluminum Design Manual section 6.7.3
