1) STATUS:   7-8-14 Comments to be addressed.

2) The following comments based on the 2009 International Building, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Codes must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the IBC, IMC, IFGC or any federal, state or local regulations.

3) Provide structural, seismic and wind load calculations plus fastening details for RTU-1 thru 5 to include engineers stamp and signature, for structural review on a deferred submittal basis.

4) M201 thru M205            The code study assigned a construction type of "3-B" to the Dimond Center Tower. It was originally built as a Type "1-F.R." ("1-A") and must remain the same. The confusion arose as a result of a meeting several weeks ago where it was agreed that the Dimond Center Mall could be rated as a Type "3B" construction. The Mall and the Tower however, are two separate buildings separated by a two hour fire wall. This being said, the floor ceiling assemblies of the Tower have a 2-Hour rating (Table 601) and any duct penetrations are to be located in a rated shaft (IBC 716.6) with penetrations of the shaft protected with fire/smoke dampers (IBC 716.5.3). If the duct connects not more than two stories the shaft and fire/smoke dampers may be eliminated if the penetration is protected with a fire damper (IBC 716.6.1). Co-ordinate with the architect.

5) When the above comments have been addressed please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised mechanical pages to include clouded changes, engineers stamp and signature.                                 RE-SUBMITTALS ARE TO BE DIRECTED TO THE ATTENTION OF THE PERMIT MANAGER WITH A LETTER OF RESPONSE ADDRESSING EACH COMMENT.
