Advisory Information:

1st Review 6/4/2014 - OK for F&F only!  Corrections Required.  Provide a written response to comments along with revised plans.

.

1.  Provide an address and knox keybox on the building.  show on elevation sheet.

.

2.  Provide fire extinguishers (FE's) per IFC 906.  show size, type, & location on plans.

.

3.  Since two exits are required per IBC 1015.1 it appears that the emergency lights as show are insufficient.  Provide additional EM's in the open area west side and and at both exit discharges of doors 100A & F.  Also provide exit signs at doors 100A & 100F.

.

4.  Clarify the specific use of the building.  What type of vehicles will be stored inside?  Will they be repairing said vehicles.  Depending on the use IBC 903.2.9.1 & 903.2.10 may require sprinklers.  An S2 Vehicle Storage Garage or an S1 Repair Garage for commercial trucks would require spinklers since the fire area is over 5000 sf.  Clearly indicate that there will be no repair or storage of commercial trucks or buses in this building or provide sprinklers as required.  Check commentary as although the code does not specifically address the repair of boats the intent for sprinklers may apply due to the hazards associated.

Note:  Building approved under X14-1572.  building was downsized to under 5000 sf thus allowing commercial vehicle storage without a sprinkler system.  Two exits required as common path is over 100ft.  Exit signs also required.  (T.Furch 6/30/2014)
