GENERAL

This review is code compliance review based on the requirements of the International Existing Building Code (IEBC), 2009 Edition, and all adopted references thereto, as amended by the Municipality of Anchorage in Anchorage Municipal Code (AMC) Title 23.  This review does not permit the violation of the building codes, nor any federal, state, or municipal regulation.

The following comments must be addressed before a permit may be issued.  Additional comments may be issued following review of submitted information.

1. EXISTING SLAB CONNECTION AT FLOOR INFILL
The calculations show an infill of the existing slab depression where the weight of the infill exceeds 10 psf. The increase in gravity load appears to exceed 10% of the demand/capacity. The connection of the depressed slab to the main 8 in. slab has not been checked for capacity.  Please provide.

Reference: IEBC Section 707.4

5/8/14 - Resolved. Clarification provide by EOR; code requirement is based on stress increase, not demand/capacity.  MMP
