1) STATUS: 3-06-14 Comments to be addressed. 4-09-14 APPROVED.
2) The following comments based upon the 2009 Uniform Plumbing Code must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the Uniform Plumbing Code or any federal, state or local regulations. RESOLVED 4-09-14.
3) M201, 1/M601 & 2/M601 GI-5 & GI-6 are also required to have vented flow control fittings. (UPC 1014.2.1)
4) M201 & 2/M601 Clarify the backflow protection required for the 1/2" CW supply to the K-17 Bag-N-Box System required per UPC 603. RESOLVED PER RE-SUBMITTAL RECEIVED 3-28-14.
5) M202 & 1/M601 ARW is also required for the waste piping serving the floor sink adjacent to K-46 Soda Drip Tray due to the corrosive effects of the waste byproducts. RESOLVED PER RE-SUBMITTAL RECEIVED 3-28-14.
6) M202 ARW located in return air plenums must be plenum rated per IMC 602.2.1. Please clarify. RESOLVED PER RE-SUBMITTAL RECEIVED 3-28-14.
7) M601 There is insufficient information on the gas piping schematic to verify adequate gas pipe sizes due to the lack of pipe lengths from the pressure regulator. Per UPC Table 12-8 a 6" gas main with a total load of 18,271 MBH can only serve the farthest appliance at a distance of approximately 110 feet, which would seem to be far less than what is required. The distance from the pressure regulator to the most remote appliance on the 3" main serving Meeting Room 405 will also be required. RESOLVED PER RE-SUBMITTAL RECEIVED 3-28-14.
8) When the above comments have been addressed please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised plumbing pages to include clouded changes, engineers stamp and signature. RE-SUBMITTALS ARE TO BE DIRECTED TO THE ATTENTION OF THE PERMIT MANAGER WITH A LETTER OF RESPONSE ADDRESSING EACH COMMENT. RESOLVED 4-09-14.
