1.  Status: Architectural Corrections required.  10/07/13   Two additional comments added on 10/16/13   Status: Full Architectural Approval.  11/04/13

 

2.  The following comments based on the 2009 International Building Code (IBC) and 2009 International Existing Building Code (IEBC) must be resolved before a permit is issued.  The plans and specifications do not permit the violation of any section of the IBC or any federal, state, or local regulations.

 

3.  Drawing A101, Floor Plan, Verify that the Door from Utility 120 (Column Lines F and 2.3) is intended to be labeled Door 4.  10/7/13    Resolved.  The Door from Utility 120 (Column Lines F and 2.3) has been revised to be labeled Door 4.  11/04/13

 

4.  Drawing A101, Floor Plan, Verify that the Door Pair from Hostess 102 to Vestibule 101 (Column Lines D and between 1.2 and 1.5) is intended to be labeled Door 2 and not 1 as indicated.  Note: This is the Door adjacent to Window Type E.  10/7/13    Resolved.  This is intended to be Door Type 1 (for both doors).  The Door numbers are not indicated on this plan.  11/04/13

 

5.  Drawing A101, Floor Plan, Every room or space that is an assembly occupancy shall have the occupant load of the room or space posted in a conspicuous place, near the main exit or exit access doorway from the room or space, per IBC Section 1004.3.  10/7/13    Resolved.  This is intended to be accomplished by the contractor.  11/04/13

 

6. Drawing A101, Floor Plan, A thermal barrier is required per IBC Section 2603.4 for the Walk-In 121, Beer Cooler 122, and Freezer 123 additions or show compliance to the requirements in IBC Section 2603.4.1.2.  Please provide freezer cut sheets and details to include the thermal barrier or clarify code compliance.  10/7/13    Resolved by Deferral.  11/04/13

 

7.  Drawing A101, Floor Plan, Vertical Rolling Security Grilles 3, 6, and 10 are the main egress to the mall.  The Door Hardware indicated on the Door Schedule A601 lists only a deadbolt provided for Rolling Security Grilles 3, 6, and 10. Verify that Rolling Security Grilles 3, 6, and 10 comply with all the requirements of IBC Section 1008.1.4.5.  10/7/13    Resolved.  Rolling Security Grilles 3, 6, and 10 will comply with all the requirements of IBC Section 1008.1.4.5.  11/04/13

 

8. Drawing A142, Details, Details 5, 14, 1nd 15 appear to indicate an exterior ladderPlease verify access to the mechanical equipment on the roof that is in accordance with IMC 306.5, as amended by Local Amendment 23.20.306.5  10/7/13    Resolved.  The Mall's access on the second level will be utilized for access to the mechanical equipment on the roof.  11/04/13

 

9. Drawing A403, Enlarged Floor Plan and Sections, Toilet Rooms- Womans 110 (Section 12) & Mens 111  (Section 8) (Also Generic Clear Floor Space - W.C. on this same drawing), The Accessible Toilet Room W.C.s require Grab Bars per ICC/ANSI A117.1 sections 604.5 and 609.  Please provide the 18 inch vertical grab bar located 39 to 41 inches from the back wall and 39 to 41 inches from the floor as shown on ICC/ANSI A117.1 Fig. 604.5.1.  10/7/13    Resolved.  The 18 inch vertical grab bar located 39 to 41 inches from the back wall and 39 to 41 inches from the floor as shown on ICC/ANSI A117.1 Fig. 604.5.1 have been added to the plans.  11/04/13

 

10.  Drawing A301, Wall Sections 1 and 2; EFIS paneling is indicated on the plans.  Per Specification 072419, 1.6 C, this EFIS paneling is intended to be fully code compliant.  Please provide Manufacturer's Data and Testing Information for the EFIS paneling as a deferred submittal for our review when available.  10/7/13    Resolved by Deferral.  11/04/13

 

11.  Drawing A303, Wall Sections and Details, General Notes; This building is IIB Construction.  Thus, add the following to the end of General Note 3; Verify conformance with the allowable combustible Material in Type I and II Construction per IBC Sec. 603.1.  10/16/13    Resolved.  11/04/13

 

12.  Drawing G100, Cover Sheet; List of Contacts; The phone number and E-mail address listed for the Electrical Engineer appears to be in error.  10/16/13    Resolved.  The error has been revised with the correct phone number and E-mail address now listed for the Electrical Engineer.  11/04/13
