GENERAL
This review is code compliance review based on the requirements of the International Building Code (IBC), 2009 Edition, and all adopted references thereto, as amended by the Municipality of Anchorage in Anchorage Municipal Code (AMC) Title 23. This review does not permit the violation of the building codes, nor any federal, state, or municipal regulation.
The following comments must be addressed before a permit may be issued. Additional comments may be issued following review of submitted information.
1. DEFERRED SUBMITTALS- No response required -
The following items have been noted on the plans to be submitted under deferred status per Sheet S0.02:
a. Exterior cladding
b. Metal stud framing
c. Curtain wall systems
d. Roofing attachment
e. Seismic restraint of mechanical and electrical equipment
All deferred submittals must be sealed by a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Alaska. Submittals must be reviewed for general conformance by the Registered Design Professional prior to submitting to Building Safety for review. Deferred submittals must be reviewed and approved by Building Safety prior to installation/construction.

2. DESIGN STANDARDS
Refer to Sheet S0.02. Please clarify the edition(s) of the standards used for design.

3. FREQUENCY OF INSPECTIONS - SOILSRefer to Sheet S0.03. The special inspection schedule notes that soil inspection may be periodic. Please revise as inspection during placement and compaction of fill is subject to continuous inspection.

4. STEEL FABRICATOR QUALIFICATIONS
Please provide a copy of the steel fabricator certification from AISC, IAS, or MOA for fabrication of structural steel without special inspection required by IBC Chapter 17. In lieu of certification, please submit the name(s) and resume(s) of the individual(s) providing shop special inspection for review.

5. GRID C BASE CONNECTION
Refer to Detail 5/S2.12, Calculations Pg. C-25+. The calculation for the anchoring of the Grid C frame does not appear to address the significant eccentricity of the connection for shear. It is not clear from the provided calculations whether the plate at the top of the grade beam has sufficient stiffness to transfer the loads to the sides of the grade beam equally as calculated.

6. SUMP DIMENSIONS
Refer to Detail 3/S4.01. Please provide revised sump details coordinated with MOA policy requirements for elevator sumps; a minimum of 24 in. x24 in. x 24 in. volume is required.
