1) STATUS:   5-24-13 Comments to be addressed.            6-20-13 COMMENTS TO BE ADDRESSED.

2) The following comments based on the 2009 International Building, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Codes must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the IBC, IMC, IFGC or any federal, state or local regulations.      RESOLVED 6-20-13.

3) Provide structural, seismic and wind load calculations as applicable, plus fastening details for RTU-1 thru 4, KMUA-1 and KH-1 & 2 to include engineers stamp and signature, for structural review on a deferred submittal basis.        RESOLVED 6-20-13.

4) M-100           Dishwasher V-2 requires a Type II vent hood. Dishwasher literature was not provided in the kitchen equipment submittal package. (IMC 507.2.2)         RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 6-17-13. ACCOUNTED FOR IN THE HVAC SYSTEM DESIGN PER IMC 507.2.2.

5) M-100           The pizza oven exhaust duct requires a cleanout for the horizontal portion. (IMC 506.3.9) Please clarify.                RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 6-17-13.

6) M-100           The left hand side of Notes #13 thru #15 did not print clearly and are unreadable.         RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 6-17-13.

7) M-100           Hood #KH-2 is depicted a Type II hood while on M-300 it allows for a maximum cooking temperature of 100 degrees above that of the Type I hood #KH-1. Also, IMC 202 qualifies the appliance beneath as a Medium-Duty Cooking Appliance with a gas open burner range (at 200 MBH) which requires a Type I hood per IMC 507.2.1. Please clarify.         RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 6-17-13.

8) M100            Note #21 refers to the Schedule on M-400 which is actually on M-300.             RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 6-17-13.

9) M-100           Note #22 at the Fire Pit refers to EF-4 above on the roof. However, EF-4 is the exhaust fan for the pizza oven. Please clarify.          RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 6-17-13.

10) M101          EF-5 note #1 refers to the equipment schedule on M301, but there is no detail for the fan and curb as there is for the other exhaust fans. Please clarify.           RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 6-17-13.

11) M-101         It appears that 42" guards are required at the roof edge for   EF-1, 2, 3 & 5, RTU-2 &4, KMUA-1 and the existing roof hatch. (IMC 304.11)          RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 6-17-13.

12) M-300         The building is classified as Type "V-B" construction which allows wood framed walls. Please clarify the required 18" clearance from combustible construction from KH-1 required per IMC 507.9.     6-20-13 UNRESOLVED. THE REFERENCE WAS TO CLEARANCES FROM THE "HOOD" OF 18" TO COMBUSTIBLE CONSTRUCTION SUCH AS THE WALL AND CEILING CONSTRUCTION. PLEASE CLARIFY.

13) When the above comments have been addressed please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised mechanical pages to include clouded changes, engineers stamp and signature.                               RE-SUBMITTALS ARE TO BE DIRECTED TO THE ATTENTION OF THE PERMIT MANAGER WITH A LETTER OF RESPONSE ADDRESSING EACH COMMENT.
