Advisory Information:

2nd review 6/26/2013 - Approved per response to fire comments and revised plans.

.

_____________

.

1st Review 4/1/2013 - Corrections Required.  Provide a written response to comments along with revised plans.

.

1.  Verify scope and accuracy of the plans.  Both volumes reference addresses of 2801 & 2925 Debarr.  If work is planned in both buildings separate permits are required.  The floor plan for sheet F4.02M of volume 2 appears to be for 2801 while the other sheets all appear to be for 2925 Debarr.

.

2.  Sheet P0.02 shows a fire extinguisher hose cabinet (FHC) detail in which the hose outlet opening is located more than 5 ft above the floor within the cabinet.  Per NFPA 14 the maximum distance to the outlet is 5 ft.  I do not see any FHC's shown on the plans.  Please change the height or delete the detail from the sheet.

.

3.  Fire extinguisher's (FE's) shall be visible, along the path of egress and within 75 ft travel distance as measured rectilinearly.  The FE near the service elevator can not count as serving the Admin Suite.  An additional FE should be added either in corridor 130 or 140, or Hallway 106 or 109.

.

4.  Since common path of travel (as using a linear measurement)  exceeds 100 ft two exits are required from the admin suite.   Exits shall be separated 1/3 the diagonal (48ft) of the space (145 ft) per IBC 1015.2.1.  Due to the layout of the intersection of corridor 130/140 the two exits converge at a point that is less than 1/3 the diagonal and greater than the 100 ft common path.  the suite exits do not have adequate separation due to the placement of the waiting room and or conference/CEO office door/hallway.

.

5.  An additional exit sign is required ob the hallway 120 side of the sleep center leading into the waiting room.  Note:  The two new double arrow directional exit signs in corridor 140 and the sigle arrow sign in corridor 130 do not seem to make sense.

.

6.  Volume one has details for medical gas.  If a gas room is required or provided it needs to be in a rated room.  show the room location and construction details of the room.

.

7.  Additions and/or changes to both the existing fire alarm & sprinkler systems require a seperate submital, review, & sub-permit.  These submitals maybe deferred.  sheets containing sprinkler or fire alarm items hae not been reviewed as part of this submital.  Pleaase acknowledge separate submitals will be provided.
