1.  PERMIT STATUS

4-24-2013 – Permit reviewed. Comments issued.

 

2.  Advisory Comment (no response required):  This review is based on the requirements of the Anchorage Administrative Code (AMC 23.10), Grading, Excavation and Fill code (AMC 23.105), and all adopted references thereto as amended by MOA. The following comments must be addressed before a permit can be issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of the codes, or any federal, state or local regulations.

 

3.  GRADING LABELS

The drawings refer to “Grading B and D-1,” and “Select material, Type A.”  These terms need to be defined on the drawings or you can use the soil designations used in the Municipality of Anchorage Standard Specifications (MASS) which are more familiar to contractors in the Anchorage area.  It is not sufficient for gradation information to be shown only in the specifications.  All information showing how to construct the project needs to be on the drawings.  Note: The similar grading project for East High School used the MASS soil type designations.

 

4.  SPECIAL INSPECTION AND STATEMENT OF SPECIAL INSPECTION

Please provide a Statement of Special Inspection showing the special inspector’s responsibilities as per AMC 23.105.115.4, IBC 1704.7, and IBC Table 1704.7.

5.  LETTER INDICATING WHO IS HIRING THE SPECIAL INPECTOR

Please provide an email, or letter stating who is hiring the special inspector and what his relationship is to the project.  See IBC, 1704.1, paragraph 1.

 

6.  SPECIAL INSPECTION AND TESTING AGREEMENT
