PERMIT STATUS

1/10/2013 – Review complete. Comments issued.

Advisory Comment (no response required):  This review is based on the requirements of the Anchorage Administrative Code (AAC), 2009 International Building Code (IBC), 2009 International Residential Code (IRC) and all adopted references thereto as amended by MOA. The following comments must be addressed before a permit can be issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of the codes, or any federal, state or local regulations.

1. The furring studs adjacent to the CMU walls have been changed to 3 5/8" deep studs. It is unlikely that a 3 5/8" stud can be sized to span 16+ feet with one of the flanges unbraced, and studs spaced at 2' O.C. as indicated in the energy analysis. Please provide calculations showing that there is a 3 5/8" stud that can support the 5-psf interior pressure load in the  various conditions shown on the drawings. It may be possible to size a stud of this size if both flanges are continuously braced.
