Approved 11/02/2012 - With the understanding a electric keyed Knox override will be provided on the gate as required by AFD Knox Policy. (10/24 response indicates "will probably" provide such. Again - this is required and if the gate is secured a knox keyed override shall be provided.

3rd Review 10/3/2012: "OK for Core & Shell". Corrections Required. Provide a written response to comments along with revised plans.
1. Revise/clarify the code study as it does not indicate the 2 hr required separation between the two occupancies/building areas (IIB & VB). Also it appears the mechanical room is required to be 1 hr and should be noted as such on code study.
2. Clarify construction of the mechanical room. It is assumed the room is required & will be 1 hour rated. All wall types shown on TS-1 are shown as rated but the wall types are not clearly shown on architectural sheets. Wall, floor, & ceiling types for the mechanical room should clearly indicate ratings and/or type.
3. Add an additional FE on the mezzanine/mechanical area.
4. Provide a detail meeting IFC 312 for the bollards required around the gas meter. Show locations on plans. shall be a maximum 3 ft from meter and 4 foot between bollards.
5. Clarify fire access as shown on the plans. It is understood the actual layout as shown may not be completed until the adjacent future hangar is constructed. What is not clear is how access is to be gained to the secure hardstand area. You show a Knox box but it has come to my attention that the gate location and type may be different. If the gate is electronic a "Knox" keyed override is required per AFD policy. If access is controlled by airport security (and/or TSA) a knox box or override may not be necessary and should be removed from the plans. If you intend to not provide a knox box due to airport security requirements please provide a letter from the airport admin office confirming same before deleting from plans.
