1) STATUS:  7-30-12 Comments to be addressed.   Status: Full Mechanical Approval by DECrafts.  8/7/12

 

2) The following comments based on the 2009 International Building, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Codes must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the IBC, IMC, IFGC or any federal, state or local regulations.

 

3) Provide structural and seismic calculations plus fastening details for KH-1 to include engineers stamp and signature, for structural review on a deferred submittal basis.    Resolved.  Provided and sent to Structural for review.  8/7/12

 

4) M3.0             Provide air balance calculations to clarify that the amount of supply air shall be approximately equal to the amount of return and exhaust air (IMC 403.1). If large quantities of makeup air are being supplied by the airport, provide a letter from the Alaska State DOT's representative for the airport terminal stating that they are aware of the quantity of makeup air they are providing and that they approve of the installation.   Resolved.  Provided.  8/7/12

 

5) M3.0             Provide a detailed section through the hood, exhaust riser and rooftop exhaust fan and curb.   Resolved.  Provided.  8/7/12

 

6) M3.0             The architectural drawings indicate that the wall behind KH-1 contains fire treated plywood. This is still considered to be a combustible material requiring 18" clearance from the hood (IMC 507.9) or provide additional wall protection per MOA Policy #M.03.   Resolved.  Stainless stell provided.  8/7/12

 

7) M3.0             Provide equipment schedules to include KH-1 details, grilles, registers and diffusers, exhaust fan performances and electrical requirements.   Resolved.  Now submitted.  8/7/12

 

8) M3.0             Clarify SD-2 required CFM.   Resolved.  400 CFM  8/7/12

 

9) M3.0             KH-1 is over 12 feet in length and requires two duct outlet connections and cleanouts for horizontal ducting. (IMC 507.15 & 506.3.9) Please clarify.   Resolved.  Per listed assembly.  8/7/12

 

10) M3.0           Kitchen exhaust installation note #8 states to refer to "Captive-Air" kitchen hood/fan shop drawings. These detailed drawings were not in the submittal package.   Resolved.  Now submitted.  8/7/12

 

11) When the above comments have been addressed please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised mechanical pages to include clouded changes, engineers stamp and signature.
