1) STATUS: 7-16-12 Comments to be addressed.
2) The following comments based upon the 2009 Uniform Plumbing Code must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the Uniform Plumbing Code or any federal, state or local regulations.
3) M1 Under sewer and vent piping it states ABS is allowed. Under Acid Resisant Waste it states to use PVC or ABS. Please clarify that there is not a return air plenum above the ceiling on both the first and second levels where these piping materials would not be permitted. (IMC 602.2.1)
4) M3 Clarify the location of FD-1 as indicated on the plumbing fixture schedule.
5) M3 A floor sink is permitted to be used in lieu of a required floor drain within 5' of the 3-compartment sink (UPC 704.3 plus local amendment), but the floor sink is required to be flush mounted. Please clarify.
6) M3 Clarify the means of disposal of the dishwasher waste.
7) M3 A floor drain is required within 5 feet of the dishwasher K-25. (UPC 704.3 plus local amendment).
8) M3 The waste from the soiled dish sink K-29 is required to be processed through a grease interceptor (UPC 1014.1) and the sink should have a strainer to keep waste food particles from going down the drain.
9) M3 Verify that the PVC soda dispenser waste will not be located within a return air plenum above the first level ceiling. (IMC 602.2.1)
10) M3 The floor sink serving K-5 food prep sink (ref. Note #12) does not require island venting. Island venting does not apply to fixtures with below the floor P-traps such as floor drains and floor sinks.
11) M7 The 2" gas main serving the water heater and kitchen cooking appliances (640 MBH @ 325') appears to be undersized per UPC Table 12-8.
12) 5/M7A Prep sink K-5 is required to be indirectly connected to the waste system as indicated on M3 & K1.
13) When the above comments have been addressed please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised plumbing pages to include clouded changes, engineers stamp and signature.
