1. Status: Full Architectural Approval. Note that comment 4 is to be verified by deferred submittal prior to a final CO for this permit. 7/5/12
2. The following comments based on the 2009 International Building Code (IBC) and 2009 International Existing Building Code (IEBC) must be resolved before a permit is issued. The plans and specifications do not permit the violation of any section of the IEBC, IBC or any federal, state, or local regulations.
3. Drawing CS1, Code Data, The Code study indicates using both the "Prescriptive Compliance Method" (IEBC, Ch 3) and the "Work Area Compliance Method" (IEBC, Ch 4). The intent of the IEBC to to use one or the other to achieve code compliance. If using the "Work Area Compliance Method" (IEBC, Ch 4), than it appears that is not a "Level 1 Alteration" nor "Level 2 Alteration" as indicated, but rather a "Change of Use" from a "M" to an "A2" (which can be downgraded to a "B" due to the occupant load appearing to be less than 50). Since this project is located within a Construction Type IA Sprinklered and Fire Alarmed Building, this change of use would be allowed and this comment is considered to be resolved. 7/5/12 RESOLVED. 7/5/12
4. Drawing CS1, Code Data, and Drawing A1, Section 1; Bamboo Wall Covering is indicated on the walls in two locations. Verify that the Bamboo Wall Covering and all interior finishes are Class C or better for Enclosed Spaces per IBC Section 803.1.1 and IBC Table 803.5. 7/5/12
