Advisory Information:

1st Review: 4/05/2012: Corrections Required.  Provide a written response to comments along with revised plans.  OK for F&F only!

.

1.  Show on plans the location of the required "Knox" Keybox.  Also show the address location on the building.  Is it your intent to label the building as "F" or will you be providing a numerical address?  The location  shall be visible from the street fronting the property.  It shall be placed high enough so as not to be blocked by landscaping and parking.  The North/East corner of the building seems the most suitable location, however other choices may be acceptable.

.

2.  The code study classifies the building as a mixed occupancy (A2/M) nonseparated use yet you are providing 1 hr separation walls between units.  Separated uses requires a 1 hr rating between A & M occupancies.  Using nonseparated use the calculated occupant load (OL) requires a fire alarm throughout.  The walls separating occupancies are noted as type D yet there is no corresponding UL listing.  either a fire alarm or a wall listing is required.

.

3.  Provide bollard protection at the gas meter as required per IFC 312.  Provide a revised detail that also includes spacing (A minimum of 3 ft from the meter and a maximum of 4ft between posts on center).  The detail shown on sheet A5.0 has a concrete footing that is too narrow.

.

4.  The duct smoke detectors shall be connected to the building fire alarm if provided.  If a fire alarm is not provided the detectors shall meet IFC 907.4.1 exception.  Please show how and where the visible/audible supervisory signal requirements will be met.
