2nd Review: 2/3/2012 - Comment 3 Corrections still required.  All other items resolved at counter per response to comments, revised plans, and discussion with architect.  See new comment for original item 3 below.

3.  1st floor exiting converges at lobby 101 & corridor 105.  Since two exits are required from this floor IBC 1015.2.1 requires the separation to be not less than 1/3 the diagonal of the floor for a sprinklered building.  The distance between the 6 story stair and the far side of lobby 101 at the junction of corridor 105 is less than 1/3 the required separation.  As discussed you may be able to use IBC 104.10 and request the building official & fire official to allow the exiting as designed.  Please submit a request in writting and I will forward to the fire marshall for consideration.  Attach a floor plan and indicate the required separation and the actual separation.  Since the corridor is not rated the actual separation shall be measured in a straight line from the 6th floor stair door to the far side of the lobby at corridor 105.
