1. Please address the following comments for full approval. 6/302011
2. The following comments based on the 2008 National Electrical Code (NEC) must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the NEC or any federal, state or local regulations.
3. EQUIPMENT REQUIRES THIRD PARTY LISTING:Please be aware that all equipment will require and be checked for third party listing per NEC 110-3. Any new or existing equipment to be reused or relocated will be checked for listing by the electrical inspector. Any equipment found without a listing will be required to go through testing to gain approval. Inspector to field verify. NO RESPONSE REQUIRED.
4. STAMPED AND SIGN ELECTRICAL DESIGN SHEETS:
Sheets E1.0 and E6.0. The referenced sheets are stamped but not signed by the electrical engineer. Please address. f
5. CLASSIFIED LOCATION INFORMATION (DOCUMENTATION):
Sheet E1.0. There are no classified areas specified (dashed) on the plans. NEC Section 500.4 requires that all areas designated as hazardous (classified) locations be properly documented. The documentation shall be available to those authorized to design, install, inspect, maintain, or operate electrical equipment. Please address on the plans the classified areas. Please address.
6. DISCONNECT MEANS LOCATION:
Sheet E1.0. The disconnecting is means is not located on the meter base. It is about 100 feet away from the main breaker. That leaves the feeder without overcurrent protection and it leave the system energized from the meter base to the main breaker. Please address.
7. DISCONNECTING MEANS IS IN DIFFERENT LOCATION FROM THE MDP:
Sheet E5.0 The disconnecting means is in a different room from the MPD. If the service man tries to work on the MPD he will not have easy access to disconnect power to the MDP. Please address.
8. NO BREAKER ON THE 200 AMP SERVICE:
Sheet E1.0. The 200 Amps service has no beaker. Please address the overcurrent protection for the feeder.
9. When the above comments have been addressed, please update the electrical plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three (3) sets of revised electrical pages to include clouded changes, electrical engineers stamp and signature.
