1) Please provide further clarification on how the 8" step is to be fixed. It sounds like from the narrative that flights of steps will be moved; however if this is the case it seems like the top step up 1" will affect the bottom step of the flight. It is also not clear what is meant by "And then to reattach the supports with new connection allowing for a one inch dimensional tolerance" as indicated in the narrative. IBC section 1009.3.2 allows for a 3/8 tolerance between the largest and smallest riser height (although no height bigger than 7" is permitted).
