1) STATUS: 3-2-11 Comments to be addressed. 3-14-11 COMMENTS TO BE ADDRESSED.
2) The following comments based upon the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the Uniform Plumbing Code or any federal, state or local regulations. RESOLVED 3-14-11.
3) M1.0 K-26 Sushi Sink is a food prep sink and requires an indirect drain (UPC 801.2.3). 3-14-11 UNRESOLVED. UNDERGROUND PIPING TO K-26 IS STILL SHOWN AS A DIRECT CONNECT.
4) M1.0 The water heater compartment requires a floor drain (local amendment to UPC 508.4). RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 3-9-11.
5) M1.0 The 3-compartment sink and the dishwasher require an adjacent floor drain (UPC 704.3). The adjacent floor sinks can be considered equivalent if they are mounted flush with the floor surface. Please clarify. 3-14-11 UNRESOLVED. THE RESPONSE THAT "THE FLOOR SINK UNDER K-16 (HAND SINK) SATISFIES THIS REQUIREMENT" IS NOT SATISFACTORY. K-16 IS LOCATED WELL OVER 10 FEET AWAY FROM THE NEAREST OF THE TWO FIXTURES. ALSO, NO NOTE WAS EVIDENT THAT A FLOOR SINK WAS REQUIRED TO BE FLUSH MOUNTED.
6) 1/M3.0 The order of the cooking equipment line and the overall gas pipe routing is not the same as shown on M1.1. 3-14-11 UNRESOLVED. A) NONE OF THE APPLIANCE "K" NUMBERS MATCH WHAT IS SHOWN ON K1.0 OR M1.1. B) THE FIRST AND LAST APPLIANCES SHOWN AFTER THE KITCHEN SOLENOID SHUTOFF VALVE ARE THE FRYER (K-1) AND THE RICE COOKER (K-8) RESPECTIVELY. ON THE PLAN VIEW (M1.1) IT IS COMPLETELY OPPOSITE. C) ON THE PLAN VIEW THE COOKING LINE BRANCHES OFF OF THE MAIN ALL BY ITSELF, WITH THE WATER HEATER AND MAU-1 BRANCHES SPLITTING OFF FURTHER DOWNSTREAM.
7).1/M3.0 The 3/4" branch piping to K-22 range/oven (139 MBH @ 105'), 3/4" to the stockpot/wok (180 MBH @ 110'), 1/2" to each fryer (100 MBH @ 115') appear to be undersized per UPC Table 12-8. 3-14-11 UNRESOLVED. THE TWO FRYER PIPE SIZES WERE NOT ADDRESSED.
8) When the above comments have been addressed please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised plumbing pages to include clouded changes, engineers stamp and signature.
