. FIRE REVIEW STATUS: APPROVED 5/7/2010 Carpenter DISAPPROVED 1/11/10 Carpenter ADDRESS: Provide a street address for the building. The address shall be plainly visible/legible from the street or road fronting the building. Monument at driveway entrance on Southpark required. Provide approved "NO PARKING FIRE LANE" sign locations on site plan. GAS METER and FIRE HYDRANT protection: Provide bollards: minimum 4" diameter by six feet (3' buried in a 15" diameter concrete footing; 3' above ground) and they must be filled with concrete. Minimum 3 feet from object protected and maximum 4 feet apart. IFC 508.5.6. & IFC 603.9. KEY BOX: Must install adjacent to the front main entrance at 6' above grade prior to the Fire Final Inspection. Knox box info may be obtained at Fire Prevention 4700 Elmore, 267-4900. Gate Knox padlock required also. FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS - Permits: Submit plans and apply for separate review and permits for FIRE ALARM system. Verify the aircraft will be unfueled or provide a automatic foam suppression system. . Concur that this is a Type II Hangar per NFPA 409 5/7/2010 FOAM SYSTEM NOT REQUIRED - PRIVATE AIRCRAFT. MEETS EXCEPTION TO IBC 412.2.6 for type II Hangar. FUEL TANKS and Dispensing: Provide all details of fuel tanks (a) Listed protected tanks IFC 2206.2.3 (b) fuel type (c) amount of fuel per tank (d) vents (e) filling operation (f) fire extinguisher (g) emergency shut-off (h) emergency procedures (i) communications (j) signage (k) dispensing operation etc etc IFC Chapter 22. EXIT SIGNS: Add exit sign south side of Door 225 on second floor. Add at entrance to Hallway that leads to Door125A. EXIT HARDWARE: Open from inside w/one motion, no special knowledge or effort. No thumb turns or separate deadbolts. Nokeyed locks except front main entrance (if one door or a single pair).. Metecno wall panels: Foam Plastic?? Verify IBC 2603.9 is met or provide approved thermal barrier or provide IBC code section applicable. OK per Craft's review. Roof Assembly: Verify roof assembly meets requirements of IBC 2603.4.1.5. IBC 603: Sheet A4.1 shows 1/2 inch plywood at roof parapet. Verify this is fire-retardant treated. Plans denote corridor on first floor from exit enclosures. These should be noted as ext passageways to IBC 1021. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: Provide fire extinguishers for hangar area to meet NFPA 10 for Extra Hazard class and spacing.
