RESOLVED OCCUPANT LOAD CALCULATIONS: Maximum chair seating is listed as 217 seats for Nave. Provide occupant load factor from IBC Table 1004.1.1 that is used and area in square footage used for the Nave. What is the exact area of the Nave?? The Banquet Hall is shown to use an occupant load factor of 15 to compute the occupant load. Would this space not be utilized for dancing and other functions that utilized only chairs that would elevate the occupant load?? Also, the Narthex is shown to have an Occupant Load of 30 using an Airport function?? The OCCUPANT LOAD is critical in determining whether a Fire Sprinkler is required or not. The threshold is 300 or more persons to require one. Any deviation from prescriptive method shall be with the approval with the Fire Marshal and Building Official. Contrary to Code Study note, IBC 907.2.1 requires a Fire Alarm in A "occupancies" having an occupant load of 300 or more.
