. FIRE REVIEW STATUS: Disapproved 7/28/09 Furch FIRE ALARM: A manual fire alarm system is required throughout the building based on R1 non sep use (IFC 907.2.8). A separate submital, review, & permit is required and may be deferred. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: Provide as required by IFC 906 for extra hazard. Meet travel distnce in hangar area as outlined in table 906.3(2) for flammable liquids. Show location on plans. Note: Rating on sheets A1 & A2 general note is incorrect. Shows 10a & 2B. should probably be reversed and actually have larger B rating for hangar area. ADDRESS: Provide on building visible from street fronting the property. Show location on elevation sheet.Will adjacent hangars have separate adresses? KEYBOX: Provide a Knox brand keybox at the main entrance. Show location on plans. MECHANICAL ROOM: Required to be 2 hr separation. Indicates only1 hr. Don't believe you can take a reduction for sprinklers as IBC 412.2.4 is more restrictive and must be met. If otherwise provide appropriate code section and correct code study. EMERGENCY LIGHTING: Provide at 2nd level walkway. Show locations on plans. DOOR ENCROACHMENT: 2nd floor janitors closet door 18 encroaches into exit path of restroom. Not allowed per IBC 1005.2. SMOKE DETECTOR: Sleeping room requires a smoke detector inside & out. How will this be achieved? Will it be part of the fire alarm system & included in the submital? EXTERIOR WALL RATING: Walls less than 30ft to lot lines or public way shall be 2 hr rated per IBC 412.2.1. Is it your intent that the 20ft no build easement gives you the required 30ft separation therefore not requiring 2 hr wall at west wall. CODE STUDY: Hangar total area indicates 13,500 & 1500 sf when determining occupant load. Total area for both blds shows20,500 but new hangar 1st floor is 15,000 + 7200 existing hangar. Occupant load 2nd floor offices indicates 820/15 = 35. Is this the training room? Area & OL numbers are incorrect. Correct Code Study by showing accurate info. FIREFLOW: Provide available fire flow and location of nearest hydrant. 1500 gpm from a single hydrant within 600ft of all exterior portions of the building along the fire access road. BOLLARD: Provide as required per IFC 312. Clearly show bollard a minimum 3 ft from gas meter and a maximum 4 ft on center between bollards DUCT DETECTOR SMOKE DETECTOR: will a duct smoke detector be provided for the AHU serving the office/training areas? If yes it must be connected to the fire alarm upon activation. Show on plans.
