. C(1): This review is based on the requirements of the 2003 International Building Code (IBC) and all adopted references thereto as amended by MOA. The following comments must be addressed before a permit can be issued. The approval of the plans and specifications does not permit the violation of the codes, or any federal, state or local regulations. C(2): QUALITY ASSURANCE PLAN Please provide a Quality Assurance Plan containing the information required by IBC 03 section 1705.2 C(3): MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS Please provide specifications for all construction materials including, but not limited to bolts, welds and pipes. C(4): DESIGN OF BOLTS Please provide design of bolts connecting the tower to the pile cap. Reference IBC section 1604.4. Comment remains. Response to this comment could not be located. Please reference page response is on or provide response if response was not given. WAB - 8/15/2006 Design of bolts is not clear. Is 60 ksi the yield strength? Please provide acceptable design procedure for the ASTM A615 bolts (as has been referenced in the drawings in the material list). Please note that AISC -ASD only applies to the specifications found in section A3.4 or A3.5. WAB - 10/19/2006 Response accepted; however please clarify the bolt ASTM reference. ASTM A615 is a rebar specification and not a bolt specification. It appears ASTM A615 has been indicated for the anchors on drawing DD3511Z under item 6. WAB - 11/7/2006 Comment resolved. MMP 12/26/2006 C(5): CONNECTION OF CAP PLATE TO PILE Reference detail 1/S-01. Please indicate the weld that connects the cap plate to the pile in the referenced detail. Reference Anchorage Administrative Code (AAC) section 23.10.302.3. C(7): WEIGHT OF UTILITY CABINET Please provide the weight of the utility cabinet indicated to be installed on the permit application. If weight is greater than 400 lbs, anchorage detail for seismic and wind must be provided with substantiating data. Reference ASCE 7-02 section 9.6. Per the submittal, the utility cabinet weighs in excessof 400 lbs. Please provide anchorage for seismic loads for the unit per the section referenced in the original comment. Please note that this item can be deferred, and would not prevent a permit from being issued. WAB - 11/7/2006 C(8): MISSING DETAILS Please provide the following details as required by AAC section 23.10.302.3: A) Splice connection of monopole. Response accepted.
