. C(1): This review is based on the requirements of the 1997 Uniform Building Code and all adopted references thereto, as amended by MOA. The following commentsmust be addressed before a permit can be issued. C(2): This work requires extensive removal of existing floor slab for installation of mechanical work and for new dock leveler pits and footings. Please verify that the load resisting system for lateral thrust at the building frames is not being compromised. There should be warning notes on the plan to avoid cutting through hairpin ties or tension ties. If they are cut, they must be replaced, and calculations and details will need to be provided. C(3): Please provide calculations and details for new framing at new door openings. C(4): There is new mechanical equipment being installed on the existing roof. Please verify that the existing framing will carry the new loads, or provide calculations and details for required added framing. C(5): Reference calculations for general footing analysis. Where did 4500 psf allowable soil bearing pressure come from? C(6): Please provide a Special Inspection program per the requirements of Chapter 17. Special Inspections should be required for concrete and for structural steel welding. Also, Structural Observation would be prudent during sawcutting of concrete. (See comment #2) C(7): Please provide the names and resumes of qualifying experience for all Special Inspectors. C(8): Please include details for new dock leveler pits. C(9): Please add structural general notes including design criteria, general specifications and Special Inspection requirements. C(10): I don't see design calculations for frame moment connections. Please clarify or provide.
