Advisory Information:
. C(1): The following comments based on the 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the Uniform plumbing Code or any federal, state or local regulations. C(2): 1/M2.1: The sand interceptor design must comply with section 1016. Since the oil interceptor is an effective trap, the sand interceptor does not have to be trapped and vented. If the sand interceptor is not trapped, it should not be vented (because sewer gas can enter the building through the interceptor). Please address. C(3): 1/M2.1: The oil interceptor design must comply with section 1017 and/or the manufacturer's installation instructions. Please address. C(4): 1/M2.1, 5/M2.1: The riser diagram shows the trench drains vented, while the floor plan does not. Since the oil interceptor is an effective trap preventing sewer gas from entering the building, the trench drains do not have to be trapped and vented (per an IAPMO Interpretation). If this all sounds confusing, please call to discuss. C(5): 5/M2.1: The vent piping is not sized. Please size in accordance with table 7-5. C(6): Trap seal protection is required on the floor drains in parts storage and the toilet rooms in accordance with section 1007. C(7): 2/M2.2: The new gas piping is under sized. Please size in accordance with table 12-3. Also, the existing 2 inch line serving RTU-8, RTU-16, RTU-19 and WH-1 is now overloaded. C(8): Due to the potential for back pressure from pressure washers, the domestic water supply outlets in the service areas should be isolated with a reduced pressure backflow preventer in accordance with table 6-2 and the AWWA Cross Connection Control manual adopted under section 23.25.603.
