. C(1): The following comments based on the 1997 edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code must be resolved before a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the Uniform Mechanical Code or any federal, state or local regulations. C(2): Combustion air is required for the water heater in accordance with chapter 7. STATUS: NOT RESOLVED. ACCORDING TO TABLE 7-A, THE MINIMUM OPENING "FREE" AREA IS 180 SQUARE INCHES. SINCE MOST GRILLES AND LOUVERS HAVE AN APPROXIMATE 50% FREE AREA, THE 14x14 OPENINGS ARE TOO SMALL. PLEASE REVISE MOA FIELD AND OFFICE PLAN SETS TO INDICATE CODE REQUIRED C/A. C(3): The water heater stack is called out as both 6 and 8 inch diameter. Please clarify the appropriate size. Note that over sized stacks are not allowed. STATUS: NOT RESOLVED. PLEASE UPDATE MOA FIELD AND OFFICE PLAN SETS. C(4): M3.2, Sheet Note 1: Both the new and existing roof top units must be designed/constructed for 100% outside air. Please provide verification from the manufacturer. STATUS: NOT RESOLVED. PLEASE PROVIDE A COPY OF THE MANUFACTURER'S APPROVAL AS INDICATED IN THE RESPONSE. C(5): I assume that return air is through the light fixtures. However, it is not clear from the electrical plans that r/a light fixtures are specified. Please verify. STATUS: RESOLVED 7-21-00.
