. STATUS: 8-18-09 Comments to be addressed. The following comments based on the 2006 International Building, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Codes must be resolvedbefore a permit is issued. The approval of plans and specifications does not permit the violation of any section of the IBC, IMC, IFGC or any federal, state or local regulations. Provide structural and seismic calculations plus fastening details for MAU-1 to include engineers stamp and signature, for structural review on a deferred submittal basis. M-1 A section of 32" duct is to be demolished. Please clarify on the plans if the remaing duct is to be capped and if not, what is its funtion. M-1 Please clarify the existing 108" x 48"exhaust plenum materials of construction (metal, GWB, rigid fiberglass ?). Ref. IMC 602.2 & 603.5.1 M-1 The existing 108" x 48"exhaust plenum has three other ducts connected to it as well as the 30" dryerexhaust duct. Per IMC 504.1, dryer exhaust systems shall be independent of all other systems ..... . Please address. M-1 The existing dryer exhaust duct has a fire damper located at the exhaust plenum. IMC 504.2 prohibitsfire dampers in clothes dryer exhaust ducts. M-1 The exhaust plenum would be considered a vertical riser and would require a cleanout a the base per IMC 504.3. Please clarify. M-1 The 30"dryer exhaust duct extends into an existing plenum in conflict with IMC 504.4. M-1 The dryer exhaust duct is required to terminate on the outside of the building and shall be equippedwith a backdraft damper. (IMC 504.4) 2/M-2 The outside air intake louver is required to have a corrosion resistant screen with openings sized per local amendment to IMC Table 401.5. When the above comments have been addressed, please update the plans at the MOA Plans Review Office with three sets of revised mechanical pages to include a written response to comments, clouded changes, engineers stamp and signature.
