Advisory Information:
C(1): The building construction is listed as Type "I-A" in the code study. Per IBC Table 601, the floor assembly is required to be rated for two hours. The narrative for the changeorder states that this catwalk is located within a "shaft" implying that the shaft is penetrating a floor. Section 707.4 states that the fire resistance of the shaft needs to be at least the same as the rating for the floor. Per Table 715.3, the door and frame labeled as "Access-6" requires an opening protective rating of 1-1/2 Hours. Please clarify. RESOLVED PER RESUBMITTAL RECEIVED 4-15-08.
