Advisory Information:

1. Provide a SWPPP Type 2. RESOLVED SME 1-11-12

2. Provide a dewatering plan. THE APPLICANT RELATES HE WILL APPLY TO AWWU TO DISPOSE THE TRENCH DEWATERING TO THE SANITARY SEWER.  THE APPLICANT WILL PROVIDE A COPY OF THE AWWU APPROVAL PRIOR TO STARTING WORK ON THIS PROJECT.

3.  The applicant has provided a copy of the ADEC paperwork for a Notice Of Intent submittal.  The original plans did not appear to have ground disturbing activity greater than one acre.  Is this correct?  Are there plans for additional ground disturbing activity? RESOLVED SME 1-11-12.

4.  If the ground disturbing activity is greater than one acre then you should continue with the ADEC NOI submittal.  If it is less than one acre then you should not sign or pay for the NOI. If you sign and pay for the NOI you will need to provide a SWPPP Type 3.  THE AREA OF DISTURBANCE IS LESS THAN AN ACRE. RESOLVED SME 1-11-12.

5. The dewatering plan on Sheet C2.1 does not meet the MOA requirements. I have provided N-Vision a copy of the dewatering request form and the pertinent pages from our Storm Water Treatment Plan Review Guidance Manual.  The dewatering request form is part of the handout AG 21, which is available on the MOA Building Safety web-site. The plan needs to demonstrate how it will meet water quality standards and monitoring the discharge water quality. RESOLVED SME 1-11-12.

6. All projects permitted by the MOA are under our jurisdiction for storm water plan review. The  SWPPP for this project needs to be sent to the MOA for review. RESOLVED SME 1-11-12.

7. ADVISORY COMMENTS:

I have concerns with the use of sand bags for the SD inlet protection. The first concern is the sandbags are a traffic hazard.  If you intend to use this BMP provide a traffic plan with hazard signs or show this area fenced inside the construction area. Second concern is the sandbags will cause the water to pond and then  freeze during breakup.

I have confirmed with ADEC the submitted NOI has not been signed or paid.  I am reminding you this activity is not a project or part of a project disturbing one or more acres of ground.  It does not require coverage under the ADEC Construction General Permit.

8.  Please address the disposal of the saw cutting slurry during the demolition phase and potential concrete washout during the construction phase.  THIS COMMENT MUST BE ADDRESSED PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY WORK.

9. Please address the need for sweeping.  How will the area of demolition be temporarily stabilized or blocked off until it can be repaved? THIS COMMENT MUST BE ADDRESSED PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY WORK.

 10.  Failure to provide the required information prior to starting work will result in a stop work order. sme 1-11-12.
