Verify Special Inspector Licenses

Special inspectors are required to obtain approval from Building Safety for each category of inspection they wish to perform before being listed as a designated special inspector for a specific project.

The documentation for approval includes a wallet card listing the categories the special inspector has been approved to inspect. Special inspectors must have the card in their possession while performing special inspections and be able to produce the card upon request of building official’s representative or designated design professional.
